1959, 19 Minutes

Up on the Bogong High Plains the Rocky Valley Dam wall is being built. The anticipated power generated from the Kiewa Hydroelectric Scheme will produce much of Victoria's electricity.

Through the eyes of a small boy and his father we see rock being blasted and transported to the dam site and travel underground to witness the construction of one of Australia's first subterranean power stations. We also explore the nearby resort village of Mount Beauty and its surrounding natural bushland, driving up the winding, mountain road and into the snow country.
