1976, 11 Minutes

A satirical look at the way coastal sand dunes are exploited and misused in Australia.

Sand dunes are an important part of the environment, but they are coming under more and more pressure as the population increases.

The Great Coastal Dune Show takes a satirical look at the damage to vegetation and animal habitats caused by many human factors, including careless sand mining, indiscriminate use for recreation and by the grazing of stock. Urgent measures are required to save the dunes.

This film graphically depicts ways in which sand dunes may become mobile and start moving inland if not managed properly. It offers ways to contain and stabilize them in order to preserve our coastlines for the future.
